Can you create solar energy at home? Find out in this Earth4Energy Review

Written by Announcement Author on Sunday, November 15th, 2009 in Home Improvement and DIY.

Welcome. The following is my Earth4Energy Review. Lots of folks have been getting this how-to guide, so does it live up to all the hype? Let’s take a peek.

First off, I’m a hard working guy that doesn’t like to throw his money down the drain, my wife even accuses me of being a miser at times… but it’s for the good of the family, right?

When I stumbled across Earth4Energy, I had to admit my interest was piqued. And a bit skeptical. I have an Engineering background, and the thought of saving money on my electric bill (forever) certainly caught my eye.

At the time, I had never really put together any type of solar or wind energy systems, although I must say I’ve always been curious. We use fluorescent bulbs at our house, and we recycle and try to do what we can for the planet, so this seemed like another good step we could take. (I have to admit that the saving money part is what really got me excited, but if I can do good AND save money, then we’re on to something here!)

An old college friend of mine (Mike) got this package last year, and one weekend I was over at his house for a BBQ and saw that he had solar panels on his roof and a small wind turbine quietly humming away in his back yard. I didn’t say it to his face, but I was actually a little jealous, and quite impressed with his work. I jumped to the conclusion that he had paid someone a small fortune to come out to his house and set up the soalr panels, but he mentioned that he’d actually done all the work himself with a few hundred dollars of common parts. I thought that was a little far fetched, but he took me inside and showed me the package he bought that taught him how to put it all together.

Things began to click… all of the details were very clear, and the instructions left nothing out. Then Mike said, in a matter of fact tone, “Yep, we’re almost completely 100% powering our house with this stuff.”  He showed me his electric bill for the last month, and I was surprised to see it was a single digit, quite unlike my 3 digit bill.

While Mike is a good friend, he was never the brains of the group back in school. I knew right then and there that if he could do it, I most certainly could too. I went ahead and got the Earth4Energy guide myself that night and started looking it over. After I completed my very own successful renewable energy project at home in a few weeks, I made up my mind to an Earth4Energy review.

Here is a breakdown of what’s in the package:

I. The eBook – This is the main part of the guide, and the sections I found most helpful were:

  1. A complete explanation of how solar systems work, and how to get the electricity from your panels to the outlets in your home. This part also covers the basic pieces of the system so you can learn everything.  Some of these systems and their descriptions include:
The Kilowatt-hour meter. While this piece my sound simple, it’s a crucial element to have, and the Earth4Energy guide tells you everything you need to know.
Inverters – What they are, how they work, and how you can find one for ten bucks.
  2. A little know SECRET to getting FREE SOLAR PANELS.  This tip actually saved me more money than anything.
How you can save a bunch of money on pre-fabricated components by wiring your own solar panels.
  3. How to create your own solar energy panels from very low cost materials.
  4. How to make you very own electricity generating wind machine. This part comes with plenty of great tips, some include:
  5. 5 things all wind turbines have in common, and why you need to make sure you don’t get oversold by a manufacturer calling it some fancy name and charging more than they should.
  6. A section on how to cut the blades to create maximum efficency.
  7. A sizing requirements guide, so you know just how much electricity you need and how large of a system you should build

The best wiring combinations, so you can wire your system optimally and prevent overlaods.
II.Videos – these are very helpful. You can’t beat watching someone perform the steps and following along.  These are being updated constantly, and you can find a really good tutorial about building solar cells. It demonstrates, very easily, how you can put this together by yourself in order to save costs on pre-fab parts.

III.  The CD – You can get the complete package in an instant download, or in CD form. The download is obviously faster, but the CD option is available.

IV. The Bonuses – Michael Harvey has put together a really compelling guide here, but on top of everything he includes some really great bonuses. I’ve noticed over time that he’s always adding to these, so I won’t mention them here because everything is updated so often. Some folks have mentioned that the bonuses alone were worth more than the cost of the Earth4Energy Guide.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my Earth4Energy review, and can soon start making your own electricity while doing your part for the planet at the same time!

No Telethon Needed For House Roofing

Written by Announcement Author on Saturday, September 5th, 2009 in Home Improvement and DIY.

You need to be tough to be a roof in a home in Mississippi (MS).You should be able to stand hurricane, the occasional falling tree limb, and much water.  Business roofs have other concerns, but you need to cover a home, or residence, in MS.  You need to be tough enough to be called MS residential roofing.

Standing Water Can Run Up Huge Trouble

MS home roofing should ideally give you a dry roof.  You don’t want any little pools of water in the roof, shingles or the gutters.  Not only can these puddles cause rot and make your roof leak, but those pools can also be a breeding ground for disease carrying mosquitoes, which love to live in wet areas and leave their eggs in standing water.

Most MS residential roofing contractor will urge your roof to be sloped, corrugated or shingled, coated and regularly inspected to be sure you don’t have any little pools of water to be concerned about.

Choosing Your Residential Roofing Specialist

Because of the extremes in weather, there are lots of MS residential roofing “experts” out there.  Even the best roofing materials will fail to do a proper job if they aren’t installed right.  How can you determine who you should pay?

If your trusted friends and family members had great experiences with their roofers, find out who they used.  Don’t be afraid to ask for references from your prospective MS residential Roofing specialist.  Check and see if they’ve ever been in trouble with the Better Business Bureau.  Also check and see what exactly comes under their warrantees, if they provide any.  Find out is they need to be paid all at once or in installments.  Don’t pick the first contractor you find.  Shop around.  Compare several MS residential roofing contractors before signing anything.  You might even check with your bank to see if you can get a loan to help with initial costs.

A MS residential roofer should be able to get you a detailed estimate about materials and costs in writing before you take them on.  They should be able to answer all of your questions to your satisfaction.  They should also be easy to get a hold of, whether by phone or in their office.

There are many good old houses still standing in Mississippi, despite the winds and the rain, due in part to the quality MS residential roofing contractors.

A lot of people all over the country do not really check if the person who is repairing their roof is a licensed contractor. For many home owner, paying more money to employee licensed roofer is just a waste of money. What A Licensed roofing Contractor Can Do

Epoxy Coating For Your Garage

Written by Announcement Author on Saturday, August 29th, 2009 in Home Improvement and DIY.

If there is a floor with a high chance of being damaged, then the epoxy coating is the best solution that you can decide for. The reason for this is the strength of durable epoxy coating. They are quite durable and have the power to hold on for a longer time than any other types of floors.

The resistance capabilities they have are better than in any other floor type. Besides being able to resist dust and dirt, they also resist to tear and wear. They can be cleaned quite easily. Epoxy paint is best used in garages, according to the people who used it for different purposes. Since there are many activities in the garage that are dangerous for the floor, this has to be done and made.

It is not hard to apply the epoxy coating to the floor. There are several simple rules you should follow and you can achieve this. The total process can be divided in to four main parts. Etching the concrete is the first thing you will have to do when starting with the work. You will do this in order to prepare the garage floor for the epoxy. Before applying the epoxy, make sure you cleaned the floor first.

One thing that helps with adhesion of epoxy paint is the cleaning and etching, the more you do it, the rougher the floor is. Another step is very important, and that is to check is there any moisture present on the floor. You have to make sure to seal the concrete so that your floor doesn’t have any moisture or you will lower the quality of your epoxy coating.

Sealing also helps in bonding the floor with the epoxy coating. After this the epoxy coating can be applied to the floor. This is doable with spray, brush or a roller. In case you have a damp garage floor, you can’t expect that the epoxy paint will bond the way it should.

Top coat is the last step you have to take. I can’t stress enough the importance of the top coat when it comes to epoxy painting. One should never avoid applying of the top coat if best results of the epoxy coating are wanted.
