How To Get Christmas Tree Light Wars

Written by Announcement Author on Saturday, November 14th, 2009 in Gifts.

Christmas Tree Light Wars

Have you ever driven down a street only to find that every house on the block is elaborately decorated with countless Christmas tree lights and other decorations? This is a common theme around Christmas time. Some people refer to them as Christmas tree light wars. This is when neighbors try to outdo each other as far as Christmas decorations are concerned. All of them will be out. They will put up thousands of Christmas tree lights, some will put up nativity scenes, some will put up  figures of Santa with his reindeer and some will have all of the above. Some yards are so full of decorations that their entire yard is full. As a bystander, just driving by in your car, it’s great to look at. But there are behind the scenes aspects to the Christmas tree light wars that most people wouldn’t think of unless they were involved in the war personally. Let’s take a look at the ups and downsides of the Christmas tree light wars and we’ll probably find that we’re glad we don’t live on one of those streets.

Why Christmas Tree Light?

First you have to consider the why question when it comes to the Christmas tree light wars. A large number of area distributes prize to the person whose has well arranged the yard and so that is what oftenly fuels the first shot in the game. However, some neighbors just decide to go all out and then the neighbors will get competitive and will follow suit. This continues until it gets ridiculous. Some neighbors have even become so competitive that they steal decorations out of their neighbors’ yards so that they can have bragging rights. And for most that’s all the Christmas tree light wars are about; it’s about the right to brag that you have the most decorated yard.

Cost Of Christmas Tree Light

Most don’t consider the cost as far as the Christmas tree light wars go. First of all, Christmas decorations are not cheap. They cost a lot of money, especially when you consider just how many Christmas decorations it takes to fill up an entire yard. But then there’s the electricity cost. Think of how much it costs to not only run the household but all those lights and figurines that move and make music and sing; it can get very, very expensive. And what do they get for all that money? Bragging rights? It hardly seems like a fair trade.

The Upside To Christmas Tree Light?

So is there an upside to the Christmas tree light wars? Well, there are all those cars that drive by to see the spectacle. The wars definitely entertain those that aren’t involved. But what else do these wars do? The neighbours are mostly unable to sleep because of the lighting and hard noise. Wait, that’s not an upside. Maybe there isn’t an upside. Maybe it’s just a practice borne out of excess and pride. Well, if nothing else, the scene would make a good Christmas card picture. Now doesn’t that make you want to get started decorating your yard? That’s what I thought.

better way to finding gift cards

Written by Announcement Author on Friday, November 13th, 2009 in Gifts.

What can be more disheartening than opening a gift and finding it to be something you will NEVER use? That has ensued to us all at various time or another. You have quite a lot of options. You can smile and pretend to like it, knowing that later you will either discard it, throw it in a closet never to be seen again, or give it to someone else and hope it never gets back to the person who gave it to you in the first place. You can inform the person that you do not like it and desire to exchange it for something else but then you danger hurting the feelings of somebody you dearly love. This is where the idea of giving gift cards comes in. Visualize being able to give your loved ones whatever they want. With a gift cards, that becomes possible.

With the incredibly high cost of gas, gasoline gift cards make an excellent gift idea. Everyone can employ them (assuming of course, that they can drive!) and they are extremely expedient to straight at the pump. This is particularly huge idea for teenagers because frequently if you just give them a MasterCard or Visa gift card, they might be extravagantly spend it on avoidable items. A gas gift card will make sure that it will be used for needed transportation. These gift cards can also be reloaded and used over and over again. There is a phone number on the back of the card. When you first get the gift card, write that number down. If the card is ever lost or stolen, you can call that number and get a replacement. Do not you wish that you could restore vanished or stolen cash that easily?

Weddings are perfect time to offer a gift card. How many of you received four dozen glasses and three toasters for your wedding? Giving a gift card will ensure that the couple will get something they truly need and want. If you need a creative idea for giving a wedding gift card, try buying a wedding gift card holder. You certainly will not be the only one bringing gift cards as a present. With a gift cardholder, they can keep all the cards together in one place. A few look a lot like birdcages or decorative boxes with a split in the top. You can get them everywhere that wedding materials are sold. Attempt to go with a color and style that matches the bride’s theme. If you aren’t sure, go with white, it is always a classic. This even works as a gift for an engagement party as well.

If you own your own business, gift cards are a great way to bring more exposure to your business. They are easy to buy and can be preloaded at set amounts, or you can have the customer choose the amount they wish to set. If the card never gets used, it is pure profit for your company.

Do not think that gift cards are just the simple way out. They show the recipient that you took the time and thought to choose an exacting store or restaurant that you know they love. But they also allow the gift recipient to choose something that would truly enjoy. Who wouldn’t desire that over something they will never use?

You might think that “it’s the thought that counts” is clichéd but the extra effort you put in making your own Christmas cards will really be appreciated by those around you. Many people will wish they had the creativity to make their Christmas cards from scratch too when they open up these masterpieces in the mail

Christmas Card Ideas: Rummage Through Your Craft Drawer

All throughout the year, designate a drawer or box for extra craft supplies. Scrapbook paper, ribbon, buttons, nice magazine photos, glitter, glue, fancy scissors are just some of the items you would want to stock in that drawer up whenever they reach the clearance bins.

Make a patchwork of different patterned paper (or even recycling from magazines) and form a quilt on the cover of the card. If you like, you can add a few photos in some of the quilt squares for that personalized Christmas card you have been thinking of for years.

Another Christmas Card Ideas Is Get Creative With Trees

We all know what Christmas trees look like; so why not take it up a notch by sending a Christmas card with a different tree? How does the idea for a Christmas card with a cactus, palm tree or apple tree sound? Far-fetched? Sure. Unique? You bet! Hang ornament stickers on an apple tree and see how your novel Christmas card ideas stand out among the rest on the mantle.

Christmas Card Ideas Go Green Is Good With A Message

If the recipient is environmentally conscious, try to personalize your Christmas cards by going green by recycling some of your previous year’s Christmas cards. Cheap idea? Maybe, but in this economy, people will be thankful that they do not have to compete with an equally priced store-bought card. Cut off the front of a card from years gone by and paste it to a new card with 3D mounting circles so that it pops off the page. One can use the old cards in many colored shapes and decorate them in a new patterned paper.

Sending Winter Theme In Your Card Is Great Christmas Card Ideas

Some of your gift list recipients may not celebrate Christmas or any holiday at all, so it is better to be all-inclusive by sending a holiday greetings card instead of rummaging around for specifically Christmas card ideas. A sledding or snowman theme works well for most winter occasions as does snowflakes, hot cocoa and other such motifs that transcend race and religion.
