Make Money Online Using Just Your Talent

Written by Announcement Author on Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 in Arts.

If you’ve done any investigation at all of online marketing, you’ll know plenty of scams abound. Unfortunately, unscrupulous marketers feed on the abundance of people who come online every day looking for ways to quit their day jobs. It’s sad, because millions of people probably spend money and lose a lot of time, only to pursue schemes that never yield any fruit. Fortunately, methods abound for making money on the Internet without any up-front fees. This will probably come as a revelation to those who have been ripped off by Internet schemes!

But the line between scam and just an ill-advised business opportunity can sometimes be thin. An example of this is the controversy over an Internet business opportunity named Site Build It. Some people think that one or more people have written a Site Build It affiliate review that was misleading. The owner has publicly defended himself and he could be totally right. But it’s up to every individual to do their own research before paying money for Internet “opportunities”.

One of the most successful ways I’ve found to make money online is totally above-board and is also pretty easy. I make money writing with HubPages. HubPages — a group blogging site –  makes it quite simple to write content that generates ad revenue. How many content “hubs” you create is up to you. Each hub has the potential to make up to five forms of revenue: Google AdSense, Kontera in-text ads, Amazon products, eBay auction items and any affiliate program you want to add. Sixty percent of the impressions (page views) that generate revenue go to you and HubPages gets the other 40 percent. The exception to that would be if you implemented an affiliate program; One hundred percent of income generated by click-throughs from an affiliate link on a hub would belong to you. It takes a while to get good at writing good hubs but the revenue you can generate over time makes it worth it.

There are many affiliate programs out there but I like to use RevResponse on my hubs, because it provides credible free information for people. When anyone clicks on your links and qualifies to receive free RevResponse publications or white papers, you get paid. It’s that simple. Qualifying is not a shoe-in though, so that aspect is important to understand. To learn more, check out this RevResponse affiliate review. The information in the review will help you know whether RevResponse is right for your audience.

Acrylic Painting Techniques

Written by Announcement Author on Saturday, November 7th, 2009 in Arts.

When it comes to learning acrylic painting techniques there are many different types of techniques that you will come across though one that is quite unique and worth learning more about is learning how best to put the acrylic paint straight to the brush instead of first on the palette. Most artists of course are so used to using a palette that they might frown on acrylic painting techniques such as this though it is nevertheless a technique that can be put to good use. What happens when you learn this particular acrylic painting technique is that you will stop mixing colors on a palette and instead will learn how build up your colors through what is known as glazing.

Another Acrylic Painting Technique: No Need To Wait For Paints To Dry

One of the benefits of learning this acrylic painting technique is that it helps solve the problem of waiting for the paint to dry on the palette; even on a palette that can retain moisture but which also leads to wastage of paint. Though you might argue why not buy cheap paint and forget the issue with wastage of acrylics the simple fact is that you will benefit more by using good quality paints and so must learn new acrylic painting techniques to overcome this problem.

A cloth is necessary while using this acrylic painting techniques to wipe away any unwanted acrylic. Next, you should use a damp brush which even though it will cause some water to get on the canvas is a good method and in any case, you can get around this problem by using thin acrylics and in addition you must be sure about whether the color you are going to use is opaque or transparent. Opaque paints should be made thin before application.

Another aspect to mastering this particular acrylic painting technique is what to do with excess paint. This can be done by simply dipping the brush into some clean water. With continuous dipping into water you may of course end up spreading the painting area with unwanted paint. But, this is not a big problem and you should also not worry about allowing excess water to affect your paint even though this will create problems with adhesion. This problem can be solved by mixing paint with equal amount of water.

Once you master this acrylic painting technique you will find that working without a palette is a wonderful way to save on colors and it helps to also save space since you will not need to use a palette.

When you take acrylic painting lessons is sure to master the art of mixing colors which essentially means that you have to learn to mix red and blue as well as yellow which are the three primary colors. Each time you mix a pair of primary colors you will get what is known as a secondary color and so if you mix red with blue you will get purple while mixing yellow with red gives you orange and mixing blue and yellow gives you green.

On the Internet, there are thousands of websites advertising digital cameras produced by various manufacturers. As you can see, every producer does its utmost to convince that its merchandise are the best currently on the market. This is true of Casio digital cameras too with the difference that what they have to offer, indeed, is the best.

It is interesting to see that there are sites dedicated especially for Casio digital cameras. They have all the information that is to be had from the manufacturer on all the available models and types of their digital camera products. This saves you the trouble of browsing various sites in search of your preferred camera type. It’s not surprising that information on such models as are out of production is also offered.

Not everyone is a professional lensman.  Therefore, it may be difficult for one to make the best selection of a digital camera out of the many hundreds of models on offer on the websites. I have found some websites on Casio digital cameras, featuring a very clever and simple procedure to help you in this direction. They ask you a few simple questions and make you select one of the answers suggested.  At the end of answering, they will automatically suggest the best camera that matches your answers.  This is a novel way of finding a straightforward answer to an otherwise complex question for a beginner.

Always collect in advance as much information as possible on whatever gadget you are going to buy.  Read all reviews, user comments, and other tips that will prove useful. The webs that advertise Casio digital cameras are full of such features.  They have up to the minute details of their latest products and models such as Exilim compact camera series. These products have Casio’s state-of-the-art technology in high speed image processing. So, go for a leader in digital photography equipment. Go for Casio digital cameras.

Why Games Controllers May Matter More Than The Games Console

Written by Announcement Author on Sunday, October 18th, 2009 in Arts.

We are all familiar with the big three video games systems currently available in the stores. We usually compare the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii on the basis of quality of graphics but we should also think about the involvement you feel by using the controllers supplied.

You probably don’t think much about the importance of the controllers you use but the games machine manufacturers spend a lot of money on designing them so we can take a look and see which we prefer. The Xbox first appeared back in 2001 and the controller that came as part of the bundle supplied is known as the duke controller.

Microsoft was quick to discover that people found the controller was too large to use comfortably and it hurt people’s hands. Realizing the problem they released an alternative controller known as the S model which is much like the one now used in the Xbox 360.

The controller they supply now is probably the most comfortable and one which you are happy to play with. The controller for the Playstation 3 in use today is not as new as you might think.

It is not very different from the familiar one we had with the PS2 with a few internal modifications. The original PS3 controller appeared very different but it’s changed control scheme was abandoned.

The talk is that the controller didn’t work as well as the established PS2 controller. There is little doubt they came right in the end but they need to be sure to get it just right getting ready for the replacement system.

The PS3 controller does an adequate job but gamers are going to want more with the control systems in any new games console released. There are fewer customers with spare money these days and it may be a while before gamers get what they want.

The last machine we look at is the Nintendo Wii games console controllers and these have introduced a lot of new people to games consoles. Something totally different was included with the wii bundle and the wiimote is very different and hard to compare to everything you thought you knew about games controls.

The wiimote is more innovative than anything we had seen before or had thought about as ways of controlling games you are playing. Bring out the motion sensing controller is more revolutionary than any other controller we have seen since the earliest days of computer games.

It is a quite superb example of technology being used to add to your enjoyment and it has the potential to take gaming to a whole new level. When the Wii bundles were first released hardened gamers dismissed the power of the computer chips inside but they ignored this game changing controller.

Gamers everywhere will be looking forward to anything different in the next round of new games console releases and what their and if price is no problem these are the ones to get. I would expect them to be very who knows what new features they might offer us and it seems likely we can only guess at the new developments and what they will do for gaming.

Advice From A Professional Motivational Speaker – How To Practice A Formal Presentation

Written by Announcement Author on Friday, October 16th, 2009 in Arts.

As an experienced professional motivational speaker, I’m a big fan of motivational quotations. Here’s one (that is sometimes attributed to Warren Buffett): “Practice makes permanent, not perfect.” In truth, only proper practice makes perfect. Here are a handful of straightforward (and yet potent) principles that will put a stop to you wasting a stack of your precious time when you prepare a presentation (or any other type of formal talk).

A Professional Motivational Speaker’s Five Top Tips

Tip 1: Commence rehearsing in plenty of time. If you leave it too late to get started, you’re in the worst of both worlds. You’ll have lost the freshness of the extemporaneous orator without acquiring the smoothness of a professional motivational speaker. And, as you reach back into the depths of your memory to bring your presentation to mind, you’ll hesitate over your lines. And so start rehearsing ASAP. Don’t forget, rehearsing a presentation always takes longer than you would think. So begin without delay, today if you can.

Tip 2: (I learned next pointer from another consulting professional motivational speaker.) Time how long it takes to deliver your first page of content, out loud. FYI, I’m not advocating you deliver your content as if actually in front of your colleagues, simply read it and time yourself. This simple exercise affords you a clear sense of roughly how many pages of information you’ll need to fill your time slot. For instance, if you find that you require four minutes and you’ve been allocated 40 minutes to speak then, clearly, you’re only going to have time to get through something like ten pages of subject matter.

Take this into account and you won’t fall into the trap of working on thirty five pages of subject matter only to find that you can only present a handful of the pages of information you spent so long polishing. This is both a enormous waste of effort and makes you look like a beginner. What’s more, when faced with this predicament, some speakers try to squash all their material into the time allotted by speaking really fast. This obviously compounds the problem.

Tip 3: Don’t memorize your subject matter as if it were a script. Working off a script in this manner and making it seem fluent takes a ton of effort. (And that’s for a completely professional motivational speaker who knows how to write a script already.) Here’s the solution? Experience has taught me that a corporate speaker is most likely to get lost as he/she transitions between different chunks of material. And so, I suggest you learn the order of your content blocks, but not the line-by-line wording within each one.

Tip 4: Videotape your presentation. Most folks working on a speech will decide to ignore this piece of advice, which is a colossal error of judgment. I realize, it takes a small amount of planning. On the other hand, it greatly lessens your overall prep time. – your speech. In particular, listen for verbal tics and watch out for distracting, repetitive gestures like toying with a marker pen.

Tip 5: Don’t forget to conduct a technical rehearsal. (According to the professionals in motivational speaking, this step invariably differentiates the professionals.) It’s wrong to take for granted that you’ll be able to seamlessly work the audio-visual parts of your presentation. Something that’s easy, like changing a PowerPoint slide using a remote, can seem like brain surgery when being watched by an audience.

Follow these action steps and then, on the day of your speech, you’ll be free to focus on the most critical thing, selling your message to the audience. Everyone will simply take for granted that you’re a professional motivational speaker. Good luck.
